Of winter's lifeless world each tree, Now seems a perfect part; Yet each one holds summer's secret, Deep down within its heart.
- Charles G. Stater
Winter dies into the spring, to be born again in the autumn.
- Marche Blumenberg
I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show.
- Andrew Wyeth
Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius.
- Pietro Aretino
As we enjoyed the Indian summer of sorts (well it didn't rain for a while which always a bonus) we must now embrace the depths of winter but all is not lost. As the trees shed their leaves and flood the earth with beautiful colour we can think of new beginnings. The trees can now forget summers past and whatever troubles it may have brought, shed those memories and begin anew and when spring re-emerges they can bloom once again, with new vigour and vibrancy. Just think of a tree if your feeling down, shed your troubles and begin anew, you too can blossom again.
